I already own robertsinclaire.com, my name, but I thought that sinclaire.com would make a nice addition to my ever growing domain name collection. As suspected, the name was already snatched up. But what I found interesting, and disturbing at the same time, was GoDaddy’s list of recommended domain names — just for me.

A search for SINCLAIRE.com prompted GoDaddy to recommend these alternate domain names:

ERRORCLAIRE.COM
TRANSGRESSIONCLAIRE.COM
WRONGDOINGCLAIRE.COM
MISDEEDCLAIRE.COM

How sad is that. I feel like I’m being judged by a piece of software. I always knew GoDaddy’s website didn’t like me. Now I have the proof!

I figured I should scoop this up before some other Robert Sinclaire snatched it. Luckily, the spelling of my name is pretty rare. Take notice of the e at the end of Sinclaire. That little baby sets us apart from the rest.

Sinclair, on the other hand, is a very popular name. In fact, both robertsinclair.com and robertsinclair.net are already taken. One of the Robert Sinclairs is web designer, and a pretty good one at that. Neat, huh? The other is a hair dresser. Umm, that’s neat too, right?

Sorry, I’m babbling.

This brings my domain name count to 8, with about another 5 I have my eye on. One project at a time though.
